HEAIDS Summit

The focal issues of the HEAIDS Summit held at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth on 28 November 2011 was based on issues raised by Higher Education Institutions during a round of consultations undertaken by the Head of HEAIDS between June and September 2011. These were the key presentations of the Summit:

•    Social, cultural and behavioral change by Mr Leon Roets
•    Academic Curriculum & Research by Prof Naydene de Lange
•    Positioning HR as a strategic Driver for Workplace Programmes by Ms Nazeema     Mohamed and Dr Ashraf Mohammed
•    Innovative communication by Ms Cal Volks

2012 “First Things First” campaign

HIV Counselling and Testing is basic to the efforts to mitigate the spread of HIV/AIDS. To know one’s HIV/AIDS status is the basis for caring for oneself, one’s loved ones, and the broader community from HIV and AIDS.
